After
several failed town meeting votes, the Shaker Regional District
Board requested a simple but high quality building design that would
provide state of the art facilities for their 450 high school students.
With a proposed budget of just over six million dollars for a new
high school, the bond passed easily at the 1997 school district
meeting, and design and construction proceeded quickly.
The
building is constructed of durable concrete block interior and exterior
walls, with a red brick and metal paneling system exterior veneer.
Sitework includes two soccer fields, two baseball fields, a rubberized
track, and over two hundred sixty parking spaces for staff and students,
situated on a beautiful thirty-seven acre fielded site. |
