The
Newfound Regional High School is situated on a narrow, wooded site
between the Pemigewasset River and the adjacent hillside. The topography
required that the building site, ball fields, and track be connected
by paths and bridges spanning ravines and streams, resulting in
a strong integration of the new building with the landscape.
The
school is designed to allow extensive community use of the gymnasium
and 500 seat auditorium while keeping the classroom areas isolated.
The building is constructed of concrete blocks, brick, and granite:
durable materials that look as good today as the year the school
opened. |
